Mozyr Oil Refinery ups oil processing 30% in H1
MINSK. July 23. (Interfax) - OJSC Mozyr Oil Refinery in the Gomel region of Belarus processed 5.8 million tonnes of oil in the first half of 2012, or 30.5% more year-on-year, the enterprise told Interfax.
The growth in refining volumes stemmed from more favorable terms of Russian oil deliveries to Belarus than those seen last year, as well as the arrival of Russian tolling companies and decreased oil prices arising from a revision in the premium formula for suppliers.
An overwhelming amount of oil arrived at the refinery by pipeline, with insignificant railway deliveries.
In January-June of this year, the Mozyr Oil Refinery turned out 1.4 million tonnes of automobile gasoline - almost 1.5-fold more than it produced in the same period of 2011. It boosted diesel fuel production almost 1.7-fold to 2 million tonnes due both to a rise in oil supplies and to fact that the refinery "processed, besides oil with conventional specifications, extra light oil delivered by railway," a representative of the refinery said.
The government of Belarus is the Mozyr Oil Refinery's main shareholder, with a 42.76% stake. Slavneft, which is controlled on a parity basis by Gazprom Neft and TNK-BP , owns 42.58%. Another 12.25% of the stock is held by OJSC MNPZ+, which belongs to the government, and private investors hold 2.41% of shares. The refinery can process around 11 million tonnes of oil per year, factoring in secondary processes, and refining depth is around 70%.
Mozyr Oil Refinery processed 10.4 million tonnes of oil last year, versus 10 million tonnes in 2010. According to Belneftekhim's forecasts, Belarus' oil refineries - OJSC Naftan and Mozyr - will process 23.4 million tonnes of oil this year.
