Agriculture department director Rudenya moves to new post

MOSCOW. July 27 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a resolution on July 25 releasing Igor Rudenya from the post of Agriculture Industry Department Director. The resolution was published on the government website Friday.

Rudenya is moving to a new post.

Rudenya was considered to be one of the longest serving officials in the government office. He came to the White House in the early 2000s as head of the agriculture development department. He left this post in 2005 and became state secretary and deputy agriculture minister. He left that post at the end of 2007 and then returned to the government as head of the regional development and agriculture department. After this department was abolished, Rudenya became head of the newly formed Agriculture Industry Department.

A source from one of the economic block ministries said Irina Antekhina, who joined the government office in 2009 from the Agriculture Ministry, was appointed acting director of the department. Experts reckon that she will replace Rudenya as head of the department.
