Doctors allow Pussy Riot members to continue taking part in trial after feeling unwell - court spokesperson
MOSCOW. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Paramedics called to Moscow's Khamovnichesky Court to examine members of the Pussy Riot punk band, who reportedly felt unwell in the courtroom, have concluded that the women can continue taking part in the proceedings, court spokesperson Darya Lyakh told journalists.
Lyakh confirmed that the defendants, i.e. Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, felt unwell in the courtroom, and three ambulance teams were called for. "Having examined the defendants, the doctors concluded that they can take part in the proceedings," Lyakh said.
She said she was unaware why the women felt unwell.
The court will resume the hearings in the near future, as soon as the lawyers join their clients, she said.
Lawyer Nikolai Polozov had said earlier that he was being barred from seeing his client, Alyokhina and so he was unaware of her condition.
