Turkish national with over 180 kilos of opium held in Kazakhstan

TARAZ, Kazakhstan. Sept 5 (Interfax) - A Turkish national has been detained with a large batch of opium in Kazakhstan's Zhambyl region.

A total of 185 plastic bags with 186.08 kilograms of opium were found in his truck, deputy Zhambyl region persecutor Khalidulla Dauyeshev told Interfax.

An investigation is underway.
