KPRF to support Gudkov
MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Leader of the Russian Communist Party (KPRF) and the KPRF faction in the Duma Gennady Zyuganov has confirmed that his faction will not back the initiative of the majority United Russia to strip Just Russia deputy Gennady Gudkov of his mandate.
"When it comes to such things as the entrepreneurial activity of deputies, we should begin with United Russia," Zyuganov told his faction on Monday.
He mentioned an earlier statement by KPRF deputy and deputy chairman of the Duma commission on deputies' income and asset declarations Vladimir Pozdnyakov, who said that there were about 60 millionaires in United Russia's ranks.
"Persecuting Gudkov because he had been in Bolotnaya Square is unacceptable," Zyuganov said.
He said he had informed Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin of the KPRF position.
"I told Sergei Yevgenyevich Naryshkin straightforwardly - we cannot share United Russia's point of view as far as this is concerned - it absolutely shameless," Zyuganov said.
