Dollar, euro post big gains in early MICEX trading
MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and the euro rose early on the MICEX in early Thursday trading, and the ruble fell against the bicurrency basket as world oil prices fell.
The dollar opened at 31.45-3154 rubles/$1, averaging in the first minute 31.5 rubles/$1, which was 29 kopecks higher than Wednesday close and 64 kopecks above the current official exchange rate.
The euro opened the trading day at around 40.92 rubles/EUR1, 17 kopecks over Wednesday close and 58 kopecks higher than the exchange rate.
The bicurrency basket ($0.55 and EUR 0.45) picked up 23-24 kopecks to 35.74 rubles.
