Serdyukov: about 30 contracts worth 30 Bln rubles left to be signed within 2012 SDO
BISHKEK. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Russia's Defense Ministry has signed around 15% of contracts worth 70 billion rubles under the state defense order (SDO) for 2013, Defense Minister Anatoly Sedyukov told reporters on Thursday.
"About 70 billion rubles or nearly 15% of the total sum allocated for next year's SDO," he said.
Nearly all major contracts are long-term agreements signed within the framework of the 2011-2012 SDO. "These are the Strategic Nuclear Forces, the Navy and the Air Force," the minister said.
Most of the contracts under the 2013 SDO have to do with scientific research and experimental design.
Speaking about the 2012 SDO, Serdyukov said that the remaining contracts - some three dozen agreements totaling around 30 billion rubles - would hopefully be signed within a month and a half.
"They pertain chiefly to new products, including those that are currently being tested," the minister said.
