Moscow won't support UN SC's sanction resolution on Syria - Churkin
NEW YORK. Sept 26 (INTERFAX) - The UN Security Council's new resolution on Syria is not the priority in the work to settle the Syrian conflict, Russia's UN ambassador said.
What is the priority is the work to establish dialogue between the parties on the basis of the Geneva agreements, Vitaly Churkin told the media.
Asked whether Russia could hypothetically approve the UN Security Council's resolution on Syria based on Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, Churkin gave the negative answer.
Chapter 7 of the UN Charter envisions the possibility of employing sanctions.
