Mostotrest H1 IFRS net profit up 14% to 1.8 bln rubles, above forecast
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - OJSC Mostotrest increased its net profit according to international financial reporting standards (IFRS) by 14% year-on-year to 1.8 billion rubles in January-June 2012, the Russian infrastructure construction group said in a statement.
The company's sales revenue grew by 25% to 45.7 billion rubles. Earnings before taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 7% to 4.5 billion rubles.
Analysts earlier expected the company's sales revenue, EBITDA and net profit to increase to 44.945 billion, 4.381 billion rubles, and 1.693 billion rubles, respectively.
Revenue growth was driven mainly by increased construction volumes in major projects and start of new projects, including: construction stages 2 and 3 of the Kurortny Avenue Relief Road in Sochi; construction of the 258km -334km segment (Vyshny Volochek Bypass) of the Moscow - Saint Petersburg Highway; construction of the 15km-58km segment of the Moscow - Saint Petersburg Toll Highway; and upgrade of the 492km-517km segment (Voronezh Bypass) of the M-4 Don Highway.
The group continued to grow its pipeline of new projects, winning new contracts worth RUB 25.7 billion in the first half of 2012. Key new projects added to the Group's backlog in the period under review were: Stage 2 rebuilding of the Sochi Seaport (contract value RUB 6.0 billion); The project to upgrade Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Airport (contract value RUB 4.8 billion); and Stage 2 construction of the traffic interchange at the intersection of
