Ukraine checking info there are Ukrainians among suspects arrested in U.S. - spokesman

KYIV. Oct 4 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Foreign Ministry is checking information that there were Ukrainian nationals among eight people who were arrested in the United States on suspicion of illegal exports of microelectronic devices from the U.S. to Russia, ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dikusarov told Interfax on Thursday.

Altogether 11 people were charged in the case. Eight who were in the United States were taken into custody under an order by a Houston court. The three others are in Moscow.

The Russian consul in Houston, Alexander Zakharov, said four of those arrested in the U.S. were Russian and the others were citizens of Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
