Dollar and euro close MICEX trades with losses
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro both posted losses on the MICEX for Friday as the Russian ruble moved up against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) thanks to growth on world capital markets.
The dollar went down by 13 kopecks to close at 30.87 rubles/$1 on the MICEX while the euro slipped 4.4 kopecks to finish at 40.27 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket went down by 9 kopecks to 35.1 rubles.
The average weighted dollar rate went down 16.69 kopecks to 30.9546 rubles/$1 in Today trades and 15.58 kopecks to 30.9407 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals on the MICEX. Dollar trading combined came to $7.42 billion rubles on the day, with $2.0505 billion in Today and $5.3697 billion in Tomorrow trades.
The average weighted euro rate went down 1.61 kopecks to 40.2553 rubles/EUR1 in Today trades and 1.59 kopecks to 40.2699 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow trades. Euro trading amounted to EUR 511.3 million, with EUR 241.5 million in Today and EUR 259.8 million in Tomorrow.
The overnight MosPrime went up by 24 basis points to 6.03%
