Tolmachevo Airport increases passenger turnover 20% in 9mths

NOVOSIBIRSK. Oct 8 (Interfax) - OJSC Tolmachevo Airport (Novosibirsk) increased passenger throughput 19.8% year-on-year to 2.4739 million persons in January-September 2012, the company said in a statement.

The number of passengers on domestic flights rose by 16.4% to 1.5438 million persons. Total passengers on international flights increased by 25.8% to 930,843 persons.

Total takeoffs out of the airport went up by 7.5% to 13,792 flights in the nine months.

In addition, 20,391 tonnes of freight and post went through the airport in then in nine months (up 36%).

Tolmachevo Airport is Russia's fifth biggest airport in terms of passenger turnover. LLC Novaport (part of AEON Corporation) owns 89% of the airport's charter capital.
