Russia to harvest 70 mln tonnes of grain in 2012, maybe a bit more - Dvorkovich
GORKI. Oct 8 (Interfax) - Russia will harvest 70 million tonnes of grain this year, or perhaps a bit more, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said.
"So far 68 million tonnes have already been gathered, so we will reach 70 million tonnes, maybe even a little more," he said at a meeting between Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his deputies on Monday.
However, grain exports are not increasing now, he said. "Exports are becoming less advantageous at the current price. So we have two tasks, make it so the prices on the domestic market grow stop growing, maybe even go down, and then there will not be too much incentive to increase exports," Dvorkovich said.
This would mean 'normal' revenues for grain-growers, and prices will not rise sharply, he said.
