Blast aftermath minimal for civilians - Orenburg vice governor

MOSCOW/ORENBURG. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has informed the Orenburg regional authorities that all servicemen have been removed from the Donguz military range and that none of them have been killed, Vice Governor Dmitry Kulagin has said.

"We have no information about fatalities thus far. The military has told us that all servicemen have been removed from the military range," he told Interfax on Tuesday.

The residents of the town of Pervomaisky (also known as Donguz by its Kazakh name), located 15 kilometers from the scene, will not be evacuated, he said.

"I keep in touch with local residents. Means of transportation will be provided to those who decide to leave the town," Kulagin said from the scene.

The aftermath is minimal for local civilians, he also said.

The blasts blew out windows in some houses, but did not cause serious destruction in Pervomaisky," he said.

He confirmed that no more explosions have occurred at the military range, but a minor fire is continuing.
