Russia, Turkey continuing talks on cargo aboard Syrian plane - Russian deputy PM

ST. PETERSBURG. Nov 6 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey are continuing negotiations regarding the cargo on board a Syrian passenger airliner that Turkish Air Force planes forced to land in Ankara on October 10 while it was heading from Moscow to Damascus, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told journalists in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.

"The negotiations are continuing," Rogozin said.

Turkish authorities confiscated the cargo they found on the plane and let it continue its flight. Turkish authorities then said the cargo was military.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on October 23 that he expected Turkey to acknowledge that the plane was not carrying weapons or ammunition.
