Almaty International Airport boosts net profit 6.3% in 2012
ALMATY. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Almaty International Airport in 2012 increased net income 6.3% in 2012 to 4.195 billion tenge, the company said in a Financial Report.
Revenue dropped 7% to 42.607 billion tenge and profit before tax fell 8.7% to 5.323 billion tenge (150.72/$1 on Jan. 23).
In 2012 the company's assets declined 2% to 54.173 billion tenge, short-term liabilities shrank 47.8% to 2.123 billion tenge, long-term liabilities declined by 22.3% to 11.738 billion tenge. Equity capital rose 11.6% to 40.312 billion tenge, share capital stood unchanged at 78.4 million tenge.
Almaty International Airport, the largest in Kazakhstan, was built in 1935. In April this year it was taken over by Venus Airport Investments B.V., a company registered in Amsterdam. Before that the airport had been owned on a parity basis by Meridian Capital LLP and SAT Infosystems LLP.
The airport cooperates with 35 national, regional and international airlines that link Almaty with over 50 cities in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
