Lavrov congratulates John Kerry on appointment, discusses timetable of contacts

MOSCOW. Feb 6 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had a telephone conversation on Wednesday at the initiative of the American side.

"Lavrov congratulated his American colleague on officially coming into office and wished him success in his work. The heads of diplomacies expressed readiness for constructive dialogue," a report posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.

"During a frank and interested conversation that lasted for about an hour the ministers discussed a wide range of questions of the bilateral agenda, including the timetable of upcoming contacts, and exchanged opinions about the most pressing international issues," the report says.
