Suspect paid 50,000 rubles for acid attack on Bolshoi theater ballet chief Filin
MOSCOW. March 7 (Interfax) - The suspected organizer of the attack on the Bolshoi Theater ballet chief, Sergei Filin, paid the perpetrator 50,000 rubles, the Moscow police press office told reporters on Thursday.
"Investigators think that the attack on the Bolshoi Theater ballet chief cost 50,000 rubles. That's how much the perpetrator got," a police spokesperson said.
The perpetrator splashed acid into Filin's face late at night on January 17. A criminal case under article 111 of the Russian Criminal Code has been opened. Filin went to Germany for further treatment after a series of operations in Moscow.
A total of three people have been detained in connection to the attack: Bolshoi Theater soloist Pavel Dmitrichenko, alleged perpetrator Yury Zarutsky and driver Andrei Lipatov.
The spokesperson said that investigators considered Dmitrichenko to be the one who ordered and organized the attack.
