Tajik citizen arrested in Kyrgyzstan with over 12 kilos of opium
BISHKEK. March 22 (Interfax) - A drug smuggler with over 12 kilos of opium has been arrested at Kyrgyz border, the press office of the Kyrgyz Internal Affairs Ministry told Interfax on Friday.
"An attempt to transit and smuggle an especially large amount of drugs produced in Afghanistan has been stopped," the press office said.
A total of 12 kilos 250 grams was found during body search of Tajik citizen.
"Policemen have also found a cache during their investigative activities under a bridge with over 18 kilos of opium," the press office said.
Police said the total amount of found drugs was 30 kilos 810 grams.
A criminal case has been opened.
