NTV revenue growth slows to 8.8% in 2012
MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - Revenue at the NTV television network increased 8.8% to 22.135 billion rubles in 2012, up from 20.349 billion rubles in 2011, the company said in its earnings report published on Tuesday.
Russia's overall television advertising market expanded at a slightly faster pace in 2012, by 9% to 143.2 billion rubles, including 9% to 139.9 billion rubles at the broadcast networks, according to the Association of Communications Agencies of Russia (AKAR).
In 2011, NTV's revenue growth outpaced the overall market, rising 25.7% compared with the overall market expansion of 18%.
NTV's gross profit last year rose 3.8% to 3.946 billion rubles and net profit was up 6.6% to 3.734 billion rubles.
NTV is one of Russia's leading television networks. It had a 15.4% share of the national advertising market in 2010-2011, up from 14.64% in 2009-2010, according to the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service (FAS). Its share of the regional market was 14.1%, up from 13.8%.
NTV is part of Gazprom-Media Holding, which also includes the TNT channel; NTV+ satellite TV broadcaster; Ekho Moskvy radio station, First Popular Radio, City-FM, Relax-FM, and Children's Radio; Seven Days publishing house; Tribuna newspaper; eight magazines, including Panorama TV television guide; NTV-Kino cinema company; Oktyabr and Crystal Palace cinema houses; RuTube web portal; Gazprom-Media advertiser and others. Consolidated revenue was 46.876 billion rubles in 2012, up 19.6% compared with 2011.
