Transneft to begin building Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline in early 2014

MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - Russian oil pipeline operator Transneft will begin construction of the Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline in early 2014, First Vice President Maxim Grishanin said at a meeting with analysts.

Surveying work on the pipeline route is nearing completion, Grishanin said.

The pipeline construction will cost an estimated 97 billion rubles. Capacity on the 703-kilometer pipeline might total 15 million tonnes of oil a year, depending on requirements. The project will also see construction of five pump stations and tank farm with 168,000 cubic meters of capacity.

The system's capacity will depend on the of oil producers it serves: Slavneft-Krasnoyarskeneftegaz LLC (owned by TNK-BP, Gazprom Neft ) developing the Kuyumba field, and East-Siberian Oil and Gas Company (Rosneft ) developing the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field.
