Kyrgyzstan launches criminal case in relation to U.S. Air Force tanker crash
BISHKEK. May 4 (Interfax) - The Investigative Committee of the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry will investigate the crash of the KC-135 tanker aircraft of the U.S. Air Force in north Kyrgyzstan.
"A criminal case has been launched in relation to the crash of the KC-135 tanker aircraft belonging to the U.S. Transit Center Manas. The Kyrgyz Interior Ministry has launched a criminal case," a ministry spokesman told Interfax on Saturday.
He did not specify the article in relation to which the case was launched but said that the Investigative Committee of the ministry would be in charge.
On Friday the ministry said a criminal case would not be launched because a special commission of the Kyrgyz government including representatives of law enforcement bodies would study all the causes for the accident.
