Airline says its plane's landing gear burst into flames while taxiing before takeoff at Vnukovo

MOSCOW. May 18 (Interfax) - None of the 129 passengers were injured in an incident involving a Boeing 737 plane at Moscow's Vnukovo airport on Saturday morning, UTair airline owning the plane told Interfax.

"A Boeing 737's landing gear leg burst into flames on a taxiway at 7:52 a.m. There were 129 passengers on board, and no one was injured. The passengers were evacuated through evacuation slides," an airline spokesperson said.

The flame was put out by fire teams, the spokesperson said. The plane was supposed to fly to Stavropol from Moscow.

It was reported earlier citing a Vnukovo air traffic control service source that the plane's landing gear burst into flames after the plane landed.
