Aftershocks of Sea of Okhotsk quake felt in Udmurtia

IZHEVSK. May 24 (Interfax) - Residents alerted Udmurtia's emergency services about seismic activity in the region on Friday morning.

"Residents have alerted us about such instances," a spokesman for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Udmurtia branch told Interfax.

Local weather service spokeswoman Alla Shumikhina said on her Twitter page that the service had received similar alerts as well.

"The weather service received several phone calls about earth tremors in the Udmurtia Republic within half an hour, including from the Emergency Situations Ministry," she said.
