Putin to meet with Civil 20 representatives on June 14

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with representatives of Civil 20, an international platform for dialogue between civil society structures, politicians, and experts of the G20, on Friday, the Kremlin press service reported.

Among the meeting participants will be delegates of the Civil 20 summit held in Moscow on June 13-14 from Russia, Mexico, and Australia, the chair countries of the G20 Troika, which is the format uniting the previous, incumbent, and future chairs of the G20 officially adopted by the G20 (Mexico chaired the G20 in 2012, Russia chairs the G20 in 2013, and Australia will chair it in 2014).

Among the meeting participants will be a representative of Turkey, which will chair the G20 after Australia (in 2015) to ensure the continuity of the Civil 20 working process, the press service reported.

The representatives of NGOs and scientists invited to the meeting took part in the development of Civil 20 recommendations and reports in 2012-2013. The Russian meeting participants are also members of the National Organizational Committee in charge of the preparations for the G20 Civil Summit, the report says.

During the meeting, representatives of Civil 20 will tell the Russia president about the work of Civil 20 and will give him civil society recommendations on issues that are on the agenda of the Russian chairmanship of the G20, a report Civil 20 Proposals on Confident, Stable, Balanced and Inclusive Growth, and an address to the leaders, which is the final document of the Civil Summit.
