People's Front: 10,000 to 15,000 Russian businessmen may be freed by economic amnesty
MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - The economic amnesty in Russia may free over 10,000 businessmen, People's Front - For Russia public movement co-chairman Alexander Galushka told reporters on Tuesday.
"These are rough estimates. About 10,000 businessmen may be freed but no more than 15,000," he said.
He noted that the shorter list of crimes made the draft resolution more balanced.
"The shorter [crime] list excluded counterfeiters and violations in dual technologies, which are directly related to defense and security. The draft amnesty resolution has become elaborated and balanced," Galushka stressed.
The State Duma will discuss the draft resolution on the economic amnesty on July 2, a representative of the State Duma Committee for Civil, Criminal, Arbitration and Procedure Legislation told Interfax on Tuesday.
President Vladimir Putin submitted the draft amnesty resolution to the State Duma. The house received drafts of the economic amnesty resolution and regulations for its fulfillment.
