Russian landing ship Novocherkassk leaves for Mediterranean
ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The Black Sea Fleet landing ship Novocherkassk on Tuesday left port Novorosiisk for a combat mission in the Mediterranean, Itnerfax-AVN was told by the Navy Staff.
"This morning the Novocherkassk, under the command of Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Bolsun left Novorosiisk and is heading for the Bosphorus. Tomorrow it will be crossing the Black Sea straits of Bosphorus and Dardanelles. In the Mediterranean the ship will carry out combat tasks in assigned areas as a member of a task force of the Russian Navy," the spokesman said.
