No progress in return of Roshen products to Russia - Onishchenko
MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - No progress has been made on the return of Roshen products to Russia from Ukrainian factories, Russia's chief sanitary doctor, head of the Russian consumer rights watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, Gennady Onishchenko, said.
"Unfortunately, we can not report any changes - either positive or negative," Onishchenko told Interfax on Wednesday.
Onishchenko told reporters on September 20 that Ukraine delayed submitting documents necessary for the return of Roshen products to the Russian market.
The Russian watchdog banned supplies of chocolate and candies in July from four Ukrainian Roshen factories to Russia due to quality issues.
An agreement was reached in mid August during talks between Onishchenko and Ukrainian Minister of Food and Agrarian Policy Mykola Pryasyazhnyuk on the procedure for the return of Roshen products to Russia.
The Russian watchdog does not plan on banning sales of Roshen products from the Russian factory in Lipetsk, Onishchenko said on September 23. Products from the four Ukrainian factories of Roshen have been banned.
