Oleg Govorun will head Kremlin directorate for cooperation with CIS states, Abkhazia and S. Ossetia

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree appointing Oleg Govorun to the post of director of the presidential directorate for socioeconomic cooperation with CIS member states, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the Kremlin press service reported on Friday.

Govorun headed the presidential directorate for domestic policy from March 2006 to September 2011, when he was appointed to the post of the president's envoy to the Central Federal District.

Following his resignation as regional development minister in October 2012, Govorun took up the job of an advisor to Rostec Corporation General Director Sergei Chemezov on January 21, 2013.

It was announced on September 20 that Vladislav Surkov was appointed to the post of the Russian president's aide in charge of promoting the socioeconomic development of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
