Right to live in Germany does not violate Ukrainian laws - Klitschko
KYIV. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Vitaly Klitschko, leader of the faction UDAR of the Ukrainian parliament, said he has the right to live in Germany, but it does not violate Ukrainian laws.
"Yes, I have the right to live in Germany, but it doesn't violate the Ukrainian legislation or my citizenship," Klitschko said in the Ukrainian parliament on Thursday.
Klitschko believes the Ukrainian authorities are trying to deprive him of Ukrainian citizenship.
"I have been a citizen of Ukraine since the moment our state declared its independence and I will always stay a citizen of Ukraine. They are now trying to keep me from running for president, they are trying to deprive me of my Ukrainian citizenship using an article in the Tax Code. It's nonsense and cynical fraud. It won't work!" Klitschko said.
"First they spread information that my brother has become a citizen of a different country. False leaflets were disseminated in the metro and in Crimea yesterday and today. I want to say once again: that won't stop me or intimidate me," he said.
