Pyatigorsk blast death toll rises to 3
ROSTOV-ON-DON. Dec 27 (Interfax) - Preliminary findings indicate that a car blast in Pyatigorsk has killed three people, a Stavropol law enforcement source told Interfax.
"According to incoming preliminary information, the number of casualties has risen to three. The explosion was so powerful that the car was torn off," he said.
The explosion was heard within a radius of four to five kilometers, and it damaged not only buildings adjacent to the scene but also several cars parked nearby, he said.
"All possible theories are being pursued, including, judging by a number of signs, that this could have been a terrorist attack, but this information has yet to be verified," he said.
