Three residents of Kabardino-Balkaria suspected of murdering five people - source
PYATIGORSK. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Police have received an APB with pictures of individuals suspected of murdering five people and installing explosive devices near their cars in the Stavropol territory on January 8, a Stavropol law enforcement source told Interfax.
"VAZ 2103, a white car, in which three residents of the village of Svetlovodskoye of Kabardino-Balkaria - Anzor, Margushev, 32; Vadim Shogenov, 25 and Artur Margushev, 23 - could be wanted on the suspicion of committing a number of murders and attempted murders of employees of the internal affairs department," the source said.
According to the information of the source, Vadim Shogenov and Artur Margushev are on the federal wanted list.
The Federal Security Service department and Interior Ministry for the Stavropol territory refused to comment on the matter.
On January 8 between 0.30 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Moscow time four VAZ vehicles with five bodies with gunshot wounds were found in two settlements of the Kirovsky and Predgorny districts. Near one of the vehicles a home-made explosive device went off - no one was injured. Another bomb was destroyed by a robot.
Since midnight on January 9 the counter-terrorist regime was introduced on a part of the Predgorny and Kirovsky districts of the Stavropol territory on the borders of the following settlements - Etokskoye, Pyatigorskoye, Zolskoye, Mariynskoye and Stavropavlovskoye.
The criminal cases have been opened under "the criminal articles, 105, 222 and 317 - murder, illegal arms trafficking and attempts on life of law enforcement officers," however investigators are considering various versions, Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin has told Interfax. All the cases will be merged into one soon, he said.
