Russia to recognize Crimean independence with intl agreement - Naryshkin
MOSCOW. March 17 (Interfax) - The independence of Crimea will be recognized by Russia in an inter-state agreement, State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin said.
"The independence will be recognized by the fact of signing an inter-state agreement," he told reporters on Monday.
For its part, State Duma will make all the necessary decisions relating to Crimea's reunification with Russia "swiftly and responsibly," he said.
Asked by Interfax whether he saw any problem in that, apart from Crimea, Sevastopol too expressed the desire to become a separate Russian region and a city of federal significance, the speaker said: "I don't see any problem here."
All the matters concerning the status are stipulated and put in the inter-state agreement, Naryshkin added.
