CSTO secretariat says it is impossible to use CORF in Ukraine
MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - The secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is "greatly puzzled" by Kyrgyz MP Tursunbai Bakir Uulu's claims that the Collective Operational Reaction Force (CORF) of the CSTO could allegedly be used to resolve the internal political crisis in Ukraine.
"Ukraine is not a member of the CSTO. Hence, the existing Collective Operational Reaction Force agreement, dated June 14, 2009, makes the use of the CORF on its [Ukrainian] territory impossible," the CSTO secretariat said in a statement on Tuesday.
