UTair group flies 2% more passengers in Q1

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - The group UTair (MOEX-TMAT) flew 1.92 million passengers in the first quarter of this year, which was 1.95% more than in the same period of last year.

There were 685,400 people transported last month alone, up 1%.

The group's passenger turnover in January-March increased 15.1% to 4.28 billion passenger-km. Turnover on domestic routs was down 7.3%. In March turnover increased 13.5% to 1.47 billion passenger-km. The decrease in turnover on domestic routes was 9%.

The Q1 seat-occupancy rate increase by 2.3% percentage points to 74.6%. It grew 2.4 p.p. to 75.9% in March.

The group's planes carried 40.8% more mail in January-March, 1,158 tonnes, but 14.6% less cargo, 5,750 tonnes.

Production helicopter flights in Q1 amounted to 25,400 hours. Helicopters transported 11,900 tonnes of cargo and 130,300 passengers.

UTair is one of Russia's leading air-carriers and one of the world's biggest operators of helicopters.
