Medvedev hopes West smart enough not to halt joint scientific projects

MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax) - Contemporary science has a global nature and Russia hopes its Western partners will be smart enough not to halt joint scientific projects, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in an annual government report presented at the State Duma.

"Our cooperation with research centers, including those in Western countries, has a vast scope. Artificial limits on international projects will have equally negative implications for all participants in the scientific and technological integration," Medvedev noted.

The prime minister stressed that foreign partners should remember about that and expressed hope "for the common sense or at least elementary thriftiness of our partners."
