Georgia dragged into war by former authorities - prime minister
TBILISI. May 12 (Interfax) - Georgia was dragged into a war, and its territories temporarily occupied as a result of reckless policies of the previous authorities, the country's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told residents of the town of Gori on Monday.
"Just recently it was Gori that saw the war into which Georgia had been dragged by its former authorities and as a result of which today some of its territories are temporarily occupied. We are trying to make well-calculated steps using all international levers to overcome the gravest consequences of the war," Garibashvili said.
He also told refugees that the current authorities will do all they can to meet their housing and other basic needs.
