Roscosmos not discouraged by satellite parts sanctions
MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The U.S. embargo on the supply of parts for Russian satellites will not affect the Russian federal space agency's (Roscosmos) plans to develop an orbital group of remote sensing satellites, Roscosmos deputy head of department Valery Zaichko told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.
When asked by reporters how a possible U.S. decision to stop supplying parts for Russian satellites could affect the plans to develop the Russian orbital grouping of remote sensing satellites Zaichko said: "Today, it could effectively do so in no way."
"Foreign parts are being used but cannot affect our plans. Russia is taking all measures to switch to a domestic component base," he said.
