CIS Heads of Government Council to debate 23 draft documents in Minsk
MINSK. May 16 (Interfax) - The CIS Heads of Government Council will meet in Minsk on May 30 to debate 23 draft documents on economic and humanitarian issues and on security issues in other spheres, the CIS Executive Committee said in a report.
The meeting will address the implementation in 2013 of the interstate program of innovations cooperation, which covers the period until 2020, and the events associated with this program scheduled for 2012-2014, the source said. The governments of the CIS countries are expected to be advised to conduct in 2014 the necessary procedures for making decisions on the provision of funding to finance the pilot projects included in the program.
The heads of the CIS countries' governments will also discuss draft agreements on cooperation in the sphere of interstate exchange of technological information and an agreement on information interaction between CIS members in the sphere of transport security.
Besides, there are plans to submit amendments to the agreement on the rules for determining the country of origin of goods in the CIS. The changes will affect Commodity Items 8415 (air conditioning equipment) and 8702-8704 (cars and motor vehicles). "The proposed document is aimed at the further liberalization of the conditions and development of mutual trade between the parties to the agreement on the determination of the country of origin of goods in the Commonwealth of Independent States," the report says.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, the meeting will also address a draft interstate radio navigation program of the CIS states covering the period until 2016 and a plan of events associated with the realization of the strategy of hydro-meteorological activities development.
The report says the meeting participants will also discuss a number of issues relating to the development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including draft decisions on support to national sports and joint measures to prevent and combat foot-and-mouth disease.
The meeting will also address issues relating to the register of units provided by the CIS countries to the CIS Forces for Dealing with the Aftermath of Natural and Man-made Emergency Situations and work aimed at creating a reserve fund for helping countries hurt by natural and man-made emergency situations.
The meeting participants will also discuss a draft agreement on cooperation in the sphere of topogeodesic and navigation support of the armed forces of the CIS countries, an agreement on cooperation between the engineering troops of the armed forces in the sphere of humanitarian mine clearance, and other documents.
