Donetsk railway authority's building blocked by DPR supporters - media
KYIV. May 19 (Interfax) - Representatives of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have blocked the administrative building of the Donetsk railway authority (DZhD).
The building is surrounded on all sides by men with automatic rifles, according to the OstroV portal.
Talks are under way between the armed men and the DZhD chief, according to the Donetsk-based 62.ua portal.
The DZhD spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
The Donetsk railway crosses Ukraine's Donetsk and Luhansk regions and partly those of Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kharkiv. The railway is 2,813 kilometer long, which is 13% of the total length of the Ukrainian railroad network. At the same time, the Donetsk railway accounts for 47% of the loading and 36% of the unloading in the Ukrainian railroad system.
