Klepach: state financing for civilian ship construction to continue
MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - Russia will not wind down state financing for construction of civilian ships, Deputy Economic Development Minister Andrei Klepach said.
"Unfortunately neither we nor the almighty can guarantee it. But in my view, there will be no winding down of financing for the civilian portion of the program. Because it can't be wound down any further. [In that case] we might as well discontinue a portion of the program," Klepach said at a meeting of the Maritime Collegium on Tuesday.
There may need to be some modification of certain civilian programs, such as discount leasing of ships, but "nothing will be cut out," he said.
Under the federal targeted program to develop civilian shipping in 2009-2016, the federal budget is to provide 17.5 billion rubles in 2014, 10.2 billion rubles in 2015 and 6 billion rubles in 2016.
