Crimean account holders to get 30 bln rubles insurance - Kozak

GURZUF, CRIMEA. May 26 (Interfax) - Account holders in Crimea will receive about 30 billion rubles in deposit insurance, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

"It is envisaged that the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) will pay around 30 billion rubles as a Bank of Russia guarantee," Kozak said.

He said some 100,000 requests had been received and processed and that 300,000 were expected in total.

In general, he said the full switch to ruble settlements in Crimea on June 1 would have no effect on personal or corporate savings.

"These decisions don't contain any threats to personal savings or cash and non-cash settlements by enterprises," he said.

"All savings in hryvnia can be exchanged for rubles at the market rate at any time," he said.
