Russian Energy Ministry: data on gas shrinkage in Ukraine 'technical readjustment'; Kyiv upholding commitments
MOSCOW. June 23 (Interfax) - The reported shrinkage in Russian gas volumes transiting Ukraine is a "technical readjustment," the Russian Energy Ministry said.
"No takeup of Russian gas in Ukraine has been registered, according to data from Central Dispatching Department of the Fuel and Energy Complex (CDU TEK). These are technical readjustments," an Energy Ministry spokesman told journalists.
It was reported earlier, citing CDU TEK operational data, that the shrinkage amounted to 3.8 million cubic meters (mcm) on June 19, 4.5 mcm June 20 and 1 mcm on June 21 (the last date for which data is available).
Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov added: "Transit through Ukraine is proceeding in accordance with contract parameters. The volume in past days is about 205 mcm."
