Kyiv uses truce for troops' re-grouping, favorable background to EU deal signing - critics
MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - The leader of the People's Front movement, Oleh Tsaryov, thinks the seven-day truce announced by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko as part of implementation of the peace place in the southeast of the country should be extended.
"It is clear that the truce should be extended because many issues remained unresolved. Humanitarian corridors promised by Petro Poroshenko are not working; Slovyansk is surrounded, we cannot send ambulance there - the vehicles came under fire," Tsaryov said, according to the press center of the People's Front of Novorossiya.
In the remaining two days of the truce, the parties will not be able to reach any solution, he said.
Furthermore, the truce was used by the Ukrainian authorities to their own ends, Tsaryov said. "The impression is that, on the one hand, the truce was used to regroup the Ukrainian troops to bring ammunition and heavey vehicles into Donetsk and Luhansk. Also, the truce has created a favorable background to make the fussy European politicians comfortable and sign the economic association agreement on June 27 with the Ukrainian government which has been pouring blood all over the country," the People's Front leader said.
The unilateral ceasefire announced by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is effective from June 20 through 27. On June 23 the truce was joined in by Donbas militia.
