Northwestern, central electricity grid projects to cost 61 bln rubles - FGC
MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Federal Grid Co estimates projects to strengthen connections between the northwestern and central portions of Russia Unified Energy System, bypassing the Baltic States, at 60 billion-61 billion rubles, of which 24 billion rubles might be provided from the National Welfare Fund (NWF), FGC head Andrei Murov told journalists.
"We estimate that all of the projects together will cost 60 billion-61 billion rubles," Murov said. "We are asking the state to provide 40% of that amount - 24.5 billion rubles - from the NWF," he said.
About 16 projects must be carried out to strengthen the connections. The feasibility studies for them are currently being prepared, he said.
The Energy Ministry is proposing that Rosneftegaz might provide funds to built grid infrastructure linking the northwestern and central portions of the grid, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said previously in an interview with Forbes. In other words, the projects may receive financing from both Rosneftegaz and the NWF.
