Russian power giant, Cuba's power company sign memorandum on cooperation

HAVANA. July 12 (Interfax) - The Russian electric power export company Inter RAO Export and the Cuban power company Union Electrica have signed a memorandum on mutual understanding regarding the conclusion of a contract for the construction of four power units with the projected capacity of 200 MWt in Cuba.

The agreement was signed following top level Cuban-Russian negotiations in Havana on Friday.

The Russian company and the Cuban Industry Ministry's electronics division also signed an agreement on cooperation in manufacturing and applying LED-based lighting devices.

RusHydro and Cuba's Union Electrica also signed a memorandum on mutual understanding during the visit.
