One-third of people killed by Israeli strikes in Gaza Hamas terrorists - Israeli ambassador

MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - Around one-third of the 172 people who, according to the Palestinian side, were killed as a result of Israeli air raids on the Gaza Strip, were members of the Hamas movement, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Dorit Golender said.

"By the morning of July 14, the Hamas health care ministry reported 172 killed and more than 1,000 injured," she told a press conference at the Interfax head office in Moscow on Monday.

"One-third of this number are members of the terrorist group Hamas, of whom Israel is aware where they are, there were targeted killings. One-third are children and civilians," Golender went on.

"Israel blames only Hamas for such civilian losses. Each time there is a warning (about Israel's planned strikes), but they use their people, their children and women as a human shield, so Israel has no other choice," the ambassador said.
