Over 24,000 Ukrainian refugees are in temporary accommodation facilities in Russia - Emergencies Ministry
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - Over 24,000 forcibly displaced persons from Ukraine remain in temporary accommodation facilities in Russia, Russian Emergencies Ministry spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax on Tuesday.
"A total of 348 temporary accommodation facilities, where 24,125 people are staying have been set up in Russia to help Ukrainian citizens and seven temporary accommodation facilities were created in the past 24 hours alone," he said.
Doctors of the Russian Emergencies Ministry continue to provide assistance the refugees need, Drobyshevsky said.
"In the past 24 hours alone experts from the mobile hospitals of the southern regional search and rescue unit helped 57 citizens. A total of 292 people have been provided with such assistance," he said.
At the same time, in the past 24 hours rescuers moved 658 refugees from Ukraine to different Russian regions and a total of almost 11,500 people have been moved.
"The Russian Emergencies Ministry moved 353 people in 24 hours by plane and another 305 people were transported by vehicle," Drobyshevsky said.
