Russia exports over 1 mln tonnes of grain so far in new farming year
MOSCOW. July 18 (Interfax) - Russia has already exported 1.007 million tonnes of grain in the first 16 days of the new agricultural year, the Agriculture Ministry said, quoting Federal Customs Service (FCS) data.
This was 46.9% more than the 473,000 tonnes the country exported in the period July 1-16 last year.
This year's total so far includes 804,000 tonnes of barley, 34,000 tonnes of corn and 5,000 tonnes of other grains.
Prices trends in the world grain market are mixed, due on the one hand to favorable conditions for the new harvests and, on the other, to the unstable political situation in the Black Sea region, the ministry said.
