Ukrainian forces take city in Luhansk region - LPR
LUHANSK. July 21 (Interfax) - Last night the Ukrainian army managed to take the city of Lutuhyne not far from Luhansk, the press office of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) said in a statement on Monday.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to take Lutuhyne and information exists that local men are being forced to join the Ukrainian army. As of now, the main forces [of the Ukrainian troops] are concentrated near the village of Metallist, apparently they intend to hit the capital [Luhansk] from two sides," the press office said.
The Ukrainian forces managed to close the circle towards Severodonetsk, Lysychansk and Rubizhne, the LPR press office said. "A punitive operation to secure the city, which involved National Guard and Right Sector detachments, has been started in the latter," the statement said.
